Food Safety Awareness in Catering – Level 1

Course Overview:

The Award in Food Safety Awareness in Catering will benefit anyone working in an environment where food is handled. The course is delivered over 3 hours.

Course Details

Learners will gain improved skills and knowledge in the preparation and handling of food, ensuring effective food safety.

The course consists of four subject areas:

  • Introduction to Food Safety
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Cleaning
  • Types of contamination and prevention

Course requirements

  • The course is suitable for anyone who requires an awareness in food safety.
  • No qualifications are required to enrol.

Course Assessment

Learners are assessed by undertaking a mulitple choice exam consisting of 15 questions

(available in a number of languages) although the course can be undertaken without an

exam.

Learners will receive a certificate accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
